One in "A" Minion School
Plantation Park earned an "A" from the Florida State Department of Education. This is due to the hard work from our students, teachers, parents, faculty and staff. We were one of nine schools that moved up two letter grades and went up 120 points. Join us as we shift to full implementation of the Florida Standards and 21st Century skills to ensure all students receive the knowledge and skills they need to be college, career, and life ready. Speak Up Survey
The Speak Up survey is conducted by Project Tomorrow, a national education nonprofit group that collects and reports on the views of K-12 students, teachers, administrators and parents on 21st Century education and technology. Survey topics this year include blended learning, 1:1 computing, coding, self-directed learning and more. Broward County uses the data for program planning related to our digital initiatives. The Survey window is from October 6-December 19, 2014. You can access the survey at: http://www.speakup4schools.org/speakup2014 All participants will access the survey through their school name. Parents will not be asked for a password. The survey should only take about 20 minutes. All data collected is 100% confidential. Thank you in advance for participating in this survey!
Response to Intervention (RtI) is defined as “the change in behavior or performance as a function of an intervention. RtI is implemented as a leveled or tiered approach to instructional delivery that includes interventions of increasingly higher intensity, based on a student’s need; that is, a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS). A problem-solving method of decision-making is employed and results of efforts are documented. The process is intended to result in better learning opportunities (academic and behavioral) and higher achievement for all students. For more information, click here
On June 9, 2014, the School Board of Broward County approved Resolution 14-88, which would put a $800 Million General Obligation Bond on the November 4th ballot. The proceeds of this bond will be utilized for capital improvements and to purchase technology for teachers and students.
