One in "A" Minion School
Plantation Park earned an "A" from the Florida State Department of Education. This is due to the hard work from our students, teachers, parents, faculty and staff. We were one of nine schools that moved up two letter grades and went up 120 points. Join us as we shift to full implementation of the Florida Standards and 21st Century skills to ensure all students receive the knowledge and skills they need to be college, career, and life ready. FREE Breakfast Program
March is National Nutrition Month! The Food and Nutrition Services Department will celebrate by piloting the Universal FREE Breakfast Program in all Broward County Schools. This will allow all students to participate in the breakfast program at no charge, regardless of the student's meal eligibility. It is scheduled to begin March 16th and end June 4th, 2015. The overall goal is to increase student academic achievement, while supporting student performance. Our cafeteria will be open for breakfast at 7:25am-7:55am.
Spelling Bee Champs
The South Plantation Innovation Zone held its second annual Spelling Bee at the Westfield Broward Mall on March 14th. The Zone Spelling Bee FIRST PLACE trophy goes to PPE for the SECOND year in a row!! Our students competed against the other elementary schools in our zone. All of our kids did a great job. Abigail Canalejo won overall, Avery Simac came in third, and Sophia Rusnak and Amira Alkoriji got out on earlier rounds. They all represented us well. Special thanks to the crowd of PPE fans that supported our school. Also, to Kiwanis and the Westfield Broward Mall for sponsoring the event.
